San Diego Veterinary Diagnostic Care
Not all of your pet’s injuries or illnesses will have visible symptoms. Our practice recognizes this is a fundamental truth in veterinary medicine and so we invest heavily in digital radiology and ultrasound for animals. The Bodhi Animal Hospital veterinary staff is trained to conduct cutting edge diagnostic procedures for cats and dogs.
Radiology for Pets
We utilize digital radiographs (better known as X-rays). Just as in human medicine, digital X-rays can help diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions in animals, including:
- Broken bones
- Vascular disease
- Dental abscesses
We may use radiographs as part of our dental care and surgery services. Once generated, we are able store and share our X-rays digitally, enhancing the capability of our veterinary team when referring out for specialty care or second opinions.
Ultrasound for San Diego Pets
Ultrasound involves sending high-frequency sound waves into an area of an animal’s body. The body’s tissues reflect the waves, which can then be converted into an image and recorded.
Bodhi Animal Hospital may use ultrasound in conjunction with other diagnostic imaging, including the following:
During this procedure, a tube is inserted through the mouth or rectum. Ultrasound allows us to obtain images of the digestive tract. These can prove useful when diagnosing conditions like liver disease.
This procedure involves using a scope to see around the lymph nodes, lungs, and bronchial tree. Ultrasound allows us to get images of this area, which we can use to diagnose lung cancer and other disorders.
